The cheapest way to reduce energy consumption is to act on energy regulation, even though saving potential is limited.
In Neuchatel, the Holistic project identifies and optimizes energy performance of various buldings so that consumption is reduced by 10% until 2011. This “Energho” process will then be discussed as to consider if it can be widespread to other countries.
Measures
- Contracts are signed with each individual large bulding owner to implement “Energho” procedures
- The evolution of energy consumption is monitored and continuous improvement is ensured for each building within the project.
Situation
The list of all buildings that need to be optimized (approximately 30% of all buildings in the area) is established by end 2008.
