- use an electric kettle to heat water
- let frozen food thaw in the refrigerator
- avoid pre-heating the oven
- set your refrigerator temperature at 5 to 7°C
- do not put hot food in the refrigerator
- do not leave the refrigerator door open for long periods of time
- set your freezer temperature at -18°C
- defrost your freezer regularly
- in case of a prolonged absence, empty and turn off the refrigerator
- wait until your washing machine and dishwasher are full before using them
- use the "eco" setting on your dishwasher
- do not leave the tap running continuously while your washing the dishes or washing fruits and vegetables
- make sure taps are closed well to prevent them from leaking
- keep a bottle of water in the refrigerator instead of letting the tap run until it is cold
